The hubs and my mom and dad went to DC for a long weekend. It's only about 3.5 hours away, so it's nice and close. It is my parent's 19th wedding anniversary today! So, we went for their anniversary and our *almost* anniversary.
We stayed at the Gaylord National Hotel. Amazing.
Here is a view of the water show. We stayed on the 11th floor and had such an awesome view of the entire place.
We went to some Smithsonians (LOVE Air & Space) and also to the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. My parents surprised us with tickets to it. So sweet.
We also ate at some really great restaurants like McCormick and Schmicks and Ketchup.
And, I went to this awesome store called Charming Charlie! We don't have these in WV! I'd never been to one...what a cute accessories store!
It was such a good weekend and made me look forward to some upcoming trips:
A few weekend/business/wedding-type things for the rest of this month.
Disney in May/June.
Columbus for Thirty-One conference in July.
I LOVE traveling!

Looks like a fun weekend! And that store looks adorable!! My AMEX would love it there! Can you believe I have never been to DC? I've been to Vegas 7 times, but never to our nations capital? Shameful!!
ReplyDeleteYou need to go! We stayed at National Harbor...there's so much shopping and dining there. Plus, it's just a short drive (there's chartered buses/shuttles) to the city.
ReplyDeleteThey're right on the water and they show free movies at night, they have bands and kids stuff. There's even a Peeps store.
